I get my domain addresses from onlinenic.com and use the free nameserver service DNS-DIY.net. I hadn’t created a CNAME record before because I’d never needed one. However, I needed to create a CNAME record for Google Blogspot.
Despite completing all the settings correctly, it just wouldn’t work. And it didn’t. I’ll contact Onlinenic.com about this, but since I needed a quick fix and was getting fed up, I pointed the domain to the nameservers of my old friend freedns.afraid.org. After about 10 minutes of entering the settings (including DNS updates), the site was ready.
