There was negligence. What is the next step? (Aslı Nemutlu)

The expert review has delivered its report. There was negligence. This didn’t even need an expert opinion. Even I, who has never engaged in these sports and whose only involvement is watching, can already see that there was negligence!

The track was not built to standard dimensions.

The nets surrounding the track were not properly installed.

There was no ambulance.

So, what happens now? Meanwhile, we learned that a private company undertook the construction of the track. So, they’re saying the fault lies with them! Okay, fine, the fault is theirs, but as a federation, does your entire responsibility end when you hand this job over to these people?

Let’s look at the situation from a chronological structure, too:

The Federation opens a tender (or doesn’t) and awards the job to this company.

The company does the job. They do it inadequately, with defects, and tell the federation, “We finished the job, here it is.”

The Federation accepts the work.

The accident happens.

Now, who is guilty?

The one who did the work inadequately and non-standardly. Yes. But what about the federation and federation officials who approved this non-standard work?

We lost a young life in the prime of her life. May God have mercy on Aslı Nemutlu.

Final word: These types of accidents and mistakes will always happen here. They will never end. Not without supervision!
