As you know, Turkey was introduced to 3G at the end of July 2009. Then, one after another, all operators began introducing 3G devices and services. Mobile internet became a part of our lives back then, and it has become an integral part of our lives. Initially, there were problems due to the scarcity of base stations capable of reaching 3G speeds, but these issues were resolved over time.
While the USB 3G modems we used were sufficient for mobile internet, our needs changed over time, and we also began to experience some of the disadvantages of USB 3G modems. For example, we encountered issues like being able to access the internet only from the computer to which we connected the USB 3G modem, or, as some of us experienced, only being able to reach 3G speeds in a corner of the room, such as by the window. We accessed the internet by making ridiculous movements, wiggling around with our notebooks. We used to solve this problem with extension cords, but is there anyone who still says this problem doesn’t exist?
At this point, Turkcell released a device called MultiVınn, which was exactly what we wanted. It was a device that was independent of computers, could access mobile internet via battery power, and allowed multiple people (up to five devices) to connect simultaneously.
After I started using MultiVınn, I discovered some shortcomings. For example, its antenna was weak, it would disconnect itself, signal quality dropped from one end of the house to the other, and so on.
