Blackberry 8300 phone factory reset (Wipe)
To factory reset (wipe) your Blackberry 8300 phone, follow these steps:
1. Press the Menu button with the dots on it, to the right of the Green Call button on your phone.
2. In the menus that appear, find “Options” at the bottom, probably the one with the wrench icon.
3. Open “Security Options“.
4. Open “General Settings“.
5. Press the Menu button (the button with the dots on it, to the right of the green Search button).
6. Open “Erase Data from Mobile Device”.
7. A warning will appear on the screen that says “Warning: All app data will be lost! Messages and other services will be disabled.” Just below this warning, you’ll see a box that says “Include apps from other companies.” Checking this box will also delete any programs you have installed on your phone, like Facebook. I always recommend checking this box. This will ensure a clean system. You can reinstall what you need later. Now, scroll down with the joystick and press “Continue.”
8. The final confirmation prompt will appear on the screen. It should say, “Enter “blackberry” to confirm the deletion of data on your mobile device.” You’ll see a space below. Type “blackberry” in the space and press the joystick to begin the deletion process.
9. When your screen is white, you’ll see the word “Wiping.” After a few minutes, your phone will be wiped and ready to boot.
Notes: When you reset your phone to factory settings, all data on it will be deleted. These include: address book, email settings, emails, text messages, and photos saved in the phone’s memory.
We recommend backing up your phone with Blackberry Desktop Software before performing the wipe. You can access the program from the address below. http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
